Andi Bissen

Andi was born and Raised in Racine, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and English. She has trained with trained with professional teachers and choreographers from the Milwaukee Ballet, Joffrey Ballet Chicago, Hubbard Street of Chicago, Troy University, and many more. 

Andi has traveled all over the country from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nashville, Memphis, New York, Orlando, and to Chicago, earning national recognition and professional training. In her travels, she has attended and been invited to take classes from the likes of tap masters such as Gregg Russell, Angela Carter, Ryan Lohoff, Anthony Russo, Chris Erk, Mark Yonally, Ja’bowen Dixon, Kendra Jorstad, Dani Borak, Sarah Savelli, Lane Alexander, Ray Hesselink, Maud Arnold, Chloe Arnold, and Sara Reich. She has performed in multiple pieces as a student at the University of Milwaukee, including working with the Chair of the Dance Department, Simone Ferro, as well as the Artistic Director of Danceworks Milwaukee, Dani Kuepper. She has also performed multiple times in Chicago’s “Carnival Choreographer’s Ball” and Chicago’s “World of Dance.” She was a guest artist in Chicago Tap Theatre’s critically acclaimed tap story show “Time Steps”. She was a dancer featured in Tap into the Network’s tap dance video “No Money - Galantis (LA Tap Experience)”. In the Spring of 2015, Andi became a member of the only current all female tap dance performance company in Chicago, JorsTAP. Andi finds a thrill in embracing the importance of tap within the art of dance, and hopes to continue spreading her love and passion for it.
