Melissa has attended multiple dance conventions and has competed in several national competitions in Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando, Ohio, and Detroit. After graduating from Heritage High School she attended Wayne State University as a BFA dance major. Melissa was the recipient of the Rochlin Fenkell Endowed Scholarship in 2006 and 2007. She was part of WSU Dance Company ONE in 2006 and 2007.  Melissa also studied with Joshua Hilberman as part of the National Endowment of the Arts in 2006.  Melissa has worked as an intern for the New York City Tap Festival in 2006 & 2007, where she studied with world renowned tap dancers. She was also a member of the Chevrolet Dance Team which performed at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans in 2008.
