Trisha Kelly (Chicago, Illinois) graduated from the University of Arizona, with a B.F.A. in dance under the direction of Jory Hancock. In 2008, she toured nationally for Wella's Future Vision Tour, back up dancing for American Idol's Kimberly Locke and Tony award winner, Jennifer Holiday. Afterward, Kelly was accepted to the Springboard Professional Project in Montreal, Canada where she worked with Ballet Jazz de Montreal, performing work by Crystal Pite. She most recently wrapped up The Radio City Christmas Spectacular's first ever area tour, performing in 18 cities nationwide. She is currently dancing for Oz The Musical starring Dianna DeGarmo from American Idol. Kelly will soon be dancing for Cirque de Soleil spring of 2010.
Danielle Brown (Libertyville, Illinois) Danielle began her training at Dance Academy of Libertyville and attended summer intensives at Milwaukee Ballet School and American Ballet Theater. Danielle continued her training at North Carolina School of The Arts with Melissa Hayden and Kee-JuanHan. In 2004, Danielle joined Ballet Austin as an apprentice and, in 2006, joined the Nashville Ballet. Danielle’s dance repertoire includes Salsa Pit, Pain Inside of Confidence, Symphony in C, Symphony Concertante, Serenade, Swan Lake, and Romeo and Juliet. Danielle joined the Sarasota Ballet in 2007 and performed in Wolfgang for Webb, Façade, Elite Syncopations, Allegro Brillante and as the jealous sister in Las Hermanas.
Rebecca Rhodes (Libertyville, Illinois) Rebecca trained at Dance Academy of Libertyville under Isabele Melo Elefson, Lisa Sheppard, and Amy Rose. During these training years Rebecca placed 2nd at the Carey Rose Winksi Dance Scholarship Competition, and was a contestant in the Youth America Grand Prix. In 2006, Rebecca was accepted into the San Francisco Ballet trainee program. Rebecca is now a full company member of San Francisco Ballet.
Carolyn Rossett (Vernon Hills, Illinois) began her formal dance training on scholarship at Dance Academy of Libertyville. Carolyn attended Boston Ballet's summer program, and was awarded scholarships to Milwaukee Ballet, Joel Hall, and Gus Giordano. Carolyn was an apprentice with River North Chicago Dance Company before attending The Juilliard School. She has performed works by Robert Battle, Martha Graham, Susan Marshall, Ohad Naharin, Aszure Barton, and Doug Varone. Upon graduation she toured with the Juilliard Dance Ensemble to Peru, and was accepted to the Springboard Professional Project in Montreal. Carolyn is currently dancing in New York, working with Janis Brenner and Dancers.
Pablo Sanchez (Libertyville, Illinois) is a junior at Indiana Univeristy where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Ballet Performance with an Outside Field in Communications and Culture. Sanchez began his formal training at the age of 11, at the Dance Academy of Libertyville, and furthered his training by attending Boston Ballet's Summer Dance Program on scholarship in 2005, 2006, and 2007, and Ballet Chicagos Advanced Intensive in 2008. In May of 2008, Sanchez toured to China with Rocky Mountain Ballet Theater, representing the United States in preparation for the Beijing Summer Olympics. Sanchez is a recipient of the Dean of Music Scholarship and Faculty Award and is also a Hudson Holland Scholar at IU. Sanchez has been featured in Michael Vernons The Nutcracker, appearing as the Sugar Plum Cavalier and Snow Cavalier. Sanchez most recently performed in My Eyes Opened, a world premiere by Matthew Neenan, and as VonRothbart in Cynthia Gregory's Swan Lake.
Josh Rubietta (Grayslake, Illinois) has been performing since the age of 8. He began his formal dance training on scholarship at the Dance Academy of Libertyville at the age of 16. Josh 's dance roles include The Wizard of Oz with Terpsichore Dance Company, as well as a guest dancer in Dance Academy of Lake Forest's Nutcracker. His favorite theatre roles include the Beast in 'Beauty and the Beast' and Captain Hook in 'Peter Pan'. He is currently studying Musical Theatre at Northwestern University, with a double minor in dance and piano. Look for Josh performing as one of the dancers at the Chicago premier of the movie FAME!
MaryAnn McGovern (Chicago, IL) holds a B.A. in Dance from Columbia College Chicago, where she had the privilege of performing the works of Shirley Mordine, Doris Humphrey, Twyla Tharp, Bonnie Brooks and Jeff Hancock. In 2009, she launched MaryAnn McGovern and Dancers, a contemporary dance company whose premier performance received critical acclaim from Time Out Chicago. In 2010, MaryAnn performed in Lisa Gonzales' The Act of Forgetting, and worked as a guest artist with Mordine and Company Dance Theatre. Ms. McGovern will soon become a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst through the Integrated Movement Studies program under the direction of Peggy Hackney and Janice Meaden. MaryAnn teaches Modern Dance at Dance Academy of Libertyville and throughout the Chicagoland area, and is loving every minute of it.
